Google Launches Three New Gemini AI Models but Gemini 3.5 Pro Is Still Missing

Google has introduced three new Gemini AI models aimed at improving speed, efficiency, and specialized AI tasks.

The latest releases include Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber.

However, the much-awaited Gemini 3.5 Pro was not part of the announcement.

The new models are designed for developers and businesses that need faster AI performance while keeping operating costs low.

Gemini 3.6 Flash Focuses on Better Performance

Gemini 3.6 Flash is Google’s latest high-speed AI model for coding, reasoning, and multimodal tasks.

Google says it delivers stronger performance while reducing token usage by up to 17%, making it more efficient and affordable than the previous Flash model.

Alongside it, Google introduced Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, a lower-cost model built for lightweight AI workloads where speed and affordability matter most.

Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber Targets Cybersecurity

Google also announced Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, a specialized AI model designed to identify and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

This model will initially be available only to governments and selected trusted partners through a limited-access program.

The company says these models are intended to help organizations build AI agents that are faster, more reliable, and easier to scale.

Gemini 3.5 Pro Remains Unavailable

Although Google released three new models, it did not launch Gemini 3.5 Pro, which many developers were expecting.

Reports suggest the company is still refining the model to meet its internal performance goals.

Google has confirmed that Gemini 3.5 Pro is currently being tested with selected partners and is expected to launch once it is ready.

Conclusion

Google’s latest Gemini releases focus on improving efficiency, lowering costs, and expanding AI capabilities for developers.

While the absence of Gemini 3.5 Pro may disappoint some users, the company appears to be prioritizing quality before releasing its flagship AI model.
