More Community Champions—users who actively engage with their communities and have strong followings—can now start their own live chat sessions.

More Control for Chat Hosts

Threads is giving hosts better moderation tools to manage conversations. 

Hosts can now invite up to three co-hosts to help lead discussions, answer questions, or moderate chats as they happen.

Another useful update allows hosts to delete messages for everyone in the chat when needed. 

Meta is also testing a feature that highlights host messages, making important announcements and updates easier for participants to notice.

Designed for Real-Time Engagement

Threads Live Chats allow users to share text messages, photos, videos, links, and emoji reactions while conversations are taking place. 

Up to 150 participants can actively send messages in a chat. 

Once that limit is reached, additional users can still watch the conversation, react to messages, and participate in polls as spectators.
